The internship experience was both valuable and helpful to me as a student and gave me the opportunity to look at the design process from a new perspective. I got exposure to industry professionals and learned how to work on a tight schedule and deliver quality work. I also got a chance to refresh and improve my design process, skills and instincts.

The feedback that I got from my mentors was the most valuable. The one month internship required me to work with patience, focus and forced me to push my limits. With the help of my mentors and my team I was able to achieve new highs in the design project which I did not believe was possible. There were times when I was stuck in work given to me and my mentors helped me navigate the murky waters of designing new products. I learned new research methods such as interviews, shadowing, surveys, immersion etc. and sharpened my skills to identify opportunities and insights from user data. My understanding of product conceptualization has increased many folds. I understood the relationship between products and services much better now. I learned a lot about how a final design presentation is held and the quality of work the industry requires.

The internship program opened up new pathways for me to explore in design. The inspiration that I received has helped me to fearlessly try out new things in life. My oral communication and presentation skills improved by ability to fully and clearly share my ideas and concepts, although it still requires some more improvements. My time management skills also improved and completing work before deadlines has now become a habit. Working as a part of a team is a must in the design industry. By working closely with others as a part of a team, I was able to strengthen my interpersonal skills and actively listen to and work with my team members.

At last I am thankful to my mentors and Bridge School for providing me with this opportunity. My experience with Bridge School was crucial to my development as a design enthusiast. I am sure I will take the lessons and skills I learned and apply them at my next position.
